In a time when natural resources are debilitated and the amount of urban waste continues to grow, design has become an essential tool used to evaluate and measure this situation. Design is critical in developing an understanding of our relationship to habitat and in promoting consciousness and an awareness of environmental friendly developments.
The exhibition DesignForFuture presents alternative solutions to everyday products in order to demonstrate the possibilities of sustainability in our daily rituals.
The products on exhibition utilize techniques which embrace recycling, active separation of waste for greater re-use and specifically constructing environmentally conscious living possibilities.

DesignForFuture > Cork
Cork is a unique material. It has a multitude of ecological advantages and renewable features, but is often forgotten or under utilized in the development of new products. The DesignForFuture exhibition desires to stimulate a greater interest in new cork applications and present products that highlight the many features of cork.

DesignForFuture > Brazil
Brazilian Design has a history of creative and conceptual developments in sustainable use of material resources. Economical challenges has peaked a growing interest in young creative to explore recycling, re-use of materials as well as traditional handcraft techniques as a way of creative new environmentally conscious products.
Brazil’s rich culture and innovative technical crafts is sure to initiate an exciting dialogue with Portugal’s’ public and artists.
